Pastel hair dye fail.

So, blogging turned out a little differently than I expected.

I wanted to be a new blogger that updates regularly and has a great feed, but when working on my current post, I found myself not updating and FAILING!

Right, I wanted to dye my hair a pastel colour from a dyed dark black. How optimistic I was! So heres my colour before:

This was the result of dying my hair deep black for monthssss. I loved it but I had that little voice in my head telling me to dye my hair a crazy colour because its that time of year again! So I gave in and thats when I had my pastel idea. But from bleaching alot, I basically destroyed my hair. Heres the result of that:

I really liked it, but for the love of all things holy, it wouldn't go lighter! So I let it fade and used vosene and dyed it a pinky colour for now:

Let me say one thing, I will never be using bleach on its own, again. From previous dying experiences I used a Schwartzkopf 00B colour to lighten and it never failed. So I don't know why I opted for bleach this time, but I did and by god have I learnt from this.

By no means is this the end! Im sure the hair dye gods will be in my favour in a couple of months, but for now the definite solution for all this is repair, repair and a bit of TLC.

Watch this space.

  2. I love the colour! You should go to the hairdressers and get it done there, maybe they will be able to tone your hair down light enough to have it pastel colours!

    1. I was debating that thought in my head, but I'm stubborn and want to conquer this myself. I will prevail!

  3. I'm just like you! Always dying my hair. However I'd suggest using platinum blond from schwarzkopf before colouring. Not as harsh and use hair masks! They smell pretty 😊 xxx Emma Joy over from Www.acrazycontradiction.com 💋

  5. Argh I don't know what happened to my other comment! But I did say that your hair looks lovely, and recommended the redken extreme mask to repair over bleached locks - I speak from experience, most of mine snapped off!

  9. You are absolutely right about the bleach. I've always sworn by the Schwarzkopf due to the number of bleach fails I had in my late teens. I remember walking around bright orange for a whole week once thanks to bleach. Your hair looks a lovely colour now though! The way I get my pastel colours (I've had pastel pink, violet and blue) is by buying the schwarzkopf colours and mixing them with conditioner. Works every time! :)
